Warranty Coverage

We offer a limited warranty on products purchased directly from Aotearoa Sleep Co., starting from the date of purchase:

  • Awhi Mattresses and Bed Bases: 5 years
  • Other Mattresses: 10 years

This warranty covers only the faults listed in What is Covered under proper use in a residential setting. It applies only to the original purchaser.

What is Covered

The warranty covers any manufacturing fault listed below, caused by how the product was made, not regular use or damage:

The warranty covers the following:

  • Springs sticking out of the mattress.
  • Seams coming apart because the stitching was not done properly.
  • Impressions or dents deeper than 50 mm that are not from regular use.
  • Broken slats in a bed base that do not hold up the mattress properly.
  • Loose or unstable bed frames that creak or wobble, due to how they were made.

We will check photos, videos, or the product to confirm the fault is listed and caused by manufacturing. It applies only to the original purchaser.

Exclusions

The warranty does not cover:

  • Minor wear from regular use, such as small dents under 50 mm, slight softening, or surface wear like loose threads or light fraying.
  • Comfort preferences, such as wanting a different firmness or feel.
  • Damage from misuse, such as jumping, standing, folding, or bending the product.
  • Damage from stains, pets, or children, such as jumping.
  • Damage from improper storage, like damp spaces, or extreme conditions, like high humidity.
  • Damage from using harsh cleaning chemicals or unauthorised repairs.
  • Products used without a mattress protector or proper base during the trial or warranty.
  • Products used in non-residential settings, like rentals or offices, without written approval.
  • Products without proof of purchase.
  • Claims without clear photos, videos, or other evidence.

The warranty is void if any condition is not met at any time from purchase. It applies only to the original purchaser.

Conditions for Warranty

To keep your warranty valid:

  • Place the mattress on a proper base, such as a slatted or platform bed base, to prevent damage.
  • Use a mattress protector at all times to keep it clean.
  • Rotate the mattress regularly to promote even wear.
  • Handle the mattress properly, such as not standing or jumping on it.
  • Keep the mattress or base clean, undamaged, and odor-free.
  • Retain your proof of purchase and keep product labels intact.

These conditions must be met at all times from purchase, or the warranty is void. It applies only to the original purchaser.

Relation to the 100-Night Trial

The 100-night trial starts on the date your mattress is delivered or collected. If you return the mattress during the trial, the warranty ends. If you keep it, you are then covered under the full warranty.

The warranty starts on your purchase date and lasts 5 or 10 years. Purchase date means the date you place your order.

Making a Warranty Claim

To make a claim:

  • Contact us at info@aotearoasleepco.co.nz or by phone within 14 days of noticing the issue.
  • Provide your proof of purchase and clear photos or videos showing the fault, like split seams or dents over 50 mm. Keep these until the claim is resolved.
  • Allow access for inspections if we request photos, videos, or an in-person check.
  • We measure dents and check stitching to confirm manufacturing faults, not regular wear or damage.
  • For covered faults, we will:
    - Repair, replace, or refund the product at our discretion.
    - Arrange and pay for shipping to return the faulty product and send a replacement or repaired product.
    - Offer a similar product or refund if a replacement is unavailable.
  • For non-covered issues, like misuse or minor wear, you pay all shipping costs to keep prices fair, and no remedy applies.

If you arrange your own shipping, we are not responsible for damage or loss. We recommend insuring your shipment. We may reject claims if photos or videos do not clearly show a listed fault. Our remedies are limited to repair, replacement, or refund.

Additional Notes

This warranty adds to protections you already have, ensuring quality for years. Keep your purchase receipt and labels for claims. If we disagree on a claim, contact us, and we will find a fair solution.
