100 Night Sleep Trial
At Aotearoa Sleep Co., we believe choosing the right mattress is key to better rest. As a Kiwi owned family business, we offer a 100 night trial on eligible mattresses to let you test your new mattress at home and decide if it suits you.
This trial is for testing comfort, separate from your rights for manufacturing faults, covered by our warranty. The trial starts on the date your mattress is delivered or collected. We suggest sleeping on it for at least 30 nights to adjust to its feel.
If it does not feel right after this time, you may return or exchange it once per purchase. This trial is designed to help you choose with confidence, with clear conditions to keep it fair for all, not for temporary use.
We craft high quality, New Zealand made mattresses and deliver them to your home with care, reflecting our family values and commitment to your satisfaction.

Conditions of Trial
To qualify for a return or exchange, you must meet these conditions:
- Sleep on the mattress for at least 30 nights to adjust to its feel.
- Use a mattress protector at all times to keep it clean and hygienic.
- Place the mattress on a suitable, supportive base, such as a slatted or platform bed.
- Keep the mattress clean, free of stains, undamaged, odor free, and pet free, verified by photos and inspection. For example, no spills, pet hair, cigarette odors, or fabric tears.
- Be the original purchaser and use the mattress in a residential setting.
- Request and complete the return or exchange within the 100 night window.
- Limit to one return or exchange per mattress purchase per household.
We will inspect the mattress upon receipt to confirm it meets all conditions before approving returns or exchanges.
Eligible Mattresses for Trial
- All New Zealand made mattresses purchased from Aotearoa Sleep Co.
- Accessories, bed bases, or bespoke, custom designed mattresses are not eligible.
Trial Exclusions and Limitations
We do not accept returns or exchanges if:
- The mattress is stained, marked, soiled, damaged, odorous, or affected by pets. For example, no spills, pet hair, urine, cigarette odors, or fabric tears.
- The mattress shows misuse, such as jumping, standing, folding, bending, improper cleaning with harsh chemicals, or incorrect storage in damp spaces.
- The return or exchange is requested within the first 30 nights, as you must sleep on the mattress for at least 30 nights to adjust to its feel.
- The mattress is used in a commercial or rental setting, such as hotels or Airbnb, without our written approval.
- Manufacturing faults are covered under our warranty, not this trial.
Return or Exchange Process
To start a return or exchange:
- Email us at info@aotearoasleepco.co.nz within the 100 night window, including your order number and photos of the mattress to show it is clean, free of stains, undamaged, odor free, and pet free. For example, no spills, pet hair, or fabric tears.
- We will review your request and confirm if it meets all conditions, based on your photos and our inspection after receipt.
- For comfort based returns or exchanges under the 100 night trial, you must arrange and pay for shipping the mattress back to us, including packaging and any disposal costs, to keep prices fair. You must also pay for shipping the new mattress to you for exchanges. We can arrange shipping, and the costs will be charged to you.
- For manufacturing faults, we will arrange and pay for all shipping, including returning the mattress and delivering a replacement, under our warranty.
- We will guide you through each step and offer options based on your location.
Refunds and Final Approval
- Refunds are processed to your original payment method after we receive and inspect the mattress to confirm it is clean, free of stains, undamaged, odor free, and pet free. For example, no spills, pet hair, cigarette odors, or fabric tears.
- You must send photos with your request to verify the mattress’s condition, showing it meets all conditions.
- We will inspect the mattress upon receipt before approving a refund.
- We do not issue refunds or process returns or exchanges if the mattress is stained, marked, damaged, odorous, or affected by pets, to keep the trial fair for all.
- Returns void the warranty, but exchanges keep it active from the original purchase date.
- Your rights for manufacturing faults under New Zealand law remain unaffected by this trial.
